Operation Christmas Child

One of the ways Central Church is able to bless others during the holiday season is by partnering with Samaritan's Purse. Operation Christmas Child delivers shoe boxes filled with gifts to help children around the world have a blessed Christmas, sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ, and letting them know that someone cares about them. Here are ways you can help:

  1. Fill a shoebox. Central will have shoeboxes available to pick up on Sun., Nov. 10 at the Charlotte and Lake Park campuses. Click here to see items you can and cannot pack in the boxes. Return your box to the Central Campus between Nov. 17 and 25.

  2. Volunteer during National Collection Week. The CSM Kids building will be open to take in filled boxes, and we need people to receive and sort them. Volunteers are needed:
    Sun., Nov. 17 and 24, 8am-12pm
    Mon-Thurs., Nov. 18-21, 10am-6pm
    Fri., Nov. 22, 9am-2pm
    Sat., Nov. 23, 9am-2pm
    and Mon., Nov. 25, 9am-4pm.
Please contact sandyn@centralnc.org to volunteer for a short time, or all day.

  3. Bring new items from the Samaritan’s Purse’s list of approved items and place them in the metal collection bin in front of the Jr. Varsity Building. We especially need large multi-packs of school supplies, toys, toiletries and clothing like underwear and t-shirts. Please drop off your donations no later than Mon., Nov. 18.

Please do not donate or place the following items in the shoebox:
Candy; toothpaste; gum; used or damaged items; war-related items such as toy guns, knives, or military figures; chocolate or food; seeds; fruit rolls or other fruit snacks; drink mixes (powdered or liquid); liquids or lotions; medications or vitamins; breakable items such as snow globes or glass containers; aerosol cans.
